photoblog image Highland warrior

Highland warrior

I was in Edinburgh last month where I was able to get this shot from a charity worker spotting a braveheart type outfit. I kindly asked to take his photo to which he kindly obliged. I asked for this menacing pose. I messed around with the colours colours to change the feel of the shot.

Whatcha think? Do you like the shot? What does the warrior convey?

Today find the warrior in yourself

Funny enough I like the image. I think the colours make it work.

Good shot.

Nice. I think the blue paint on the face goes well with the blue(ish) tint of the wall in the background.

I like this... I agree with Suby: the colour riot works for me!!!

Explain the shot... is it a personal friend, some random dude, etc??? Any story behind the shot?

I saw this guy there just outside the castle grounds. It was the day of the Six Nations rugby match between Scotland and France. When he's not grimmacing, he bears a remarkable resemblance to Mel Gibson in the film Braveheart (hence his choice of character, I guess). I was mildly amused to see him posing like this for many passing photographers.

On the other side of the street at the same time, I was more captivated by a boy and a girl selling some really good landscape photos from all over Scotland on behalf of their photographer father. It was perishing cold for all concerned, I recall.
