Ok I am stumped, I can't think of title for this shot. Any ideas?

Yeap another portrait for you. How does portrait strike you, if it strikes you at all. And what do you think is going on?

Has that Tom Cruise look. How about....."What do you think?" He looks like he's just presented her with a few options and she's thinking about them.
sk: thanks Mr Alakija
All I notice is a half unbuttoned blouse! If this were one of Suby's shots then I would think that.... nah... Ade is too decent for that.

I dont think i'd classify this as a portrait.

On a funny note, is it just me....that guy has a rather big head, or is the girl really just small.

The tones in the picture are very good, and you have captured the whites rather well.

But along with the good comes the bad, I'm afraid! This picture has no character. the man is doing nothing for the picture yet he distracts the focus of the picture which is not too clear in the first instance, bit might have been the cute female model.

Maybe a total crop of the man... leaving only the girl?
sk: so what is a portrait then?

If i were to go inline with what Jide stated, How about 'contemplation'?

I agree with Skee, I do not feel the shot. These to me are 2 different images. It will work if you remove one person from the shot. I actually love the girls pose (not only because she looks cute)

Now to answer you question as to what constitutes a portrait, look at my blog for today, I think you may find the answer there smile

sk: Nah the image is fine the way it is, its an interaction betweeen two people not a "portrait"

There's a story hidden in this shot; maybe several stories. The Tom Cruise looking dude looks like he's just asked the girl something embarrassing, and is eagerly awaiting the answer. The girl doesn't want to answer, and is too ashamed to look at him. Great lifestyle shot, it leaves us guessing at the story.
sk: finally somebody is beginning to get it. thanks for ur comments Paul

I think the very character of this shot is because there are two people and their facial expressions compliment each other. Its like one of them just disclosed one of their dirty secrets. Thats my story. This shot has more character because of the very nature of the composition.
sk: very true, thanx very much, this is what I was trying to bring out

the girl loves him but is afraid of it all so is silent, the man knows this (by the by..he loves her too), but is looking on at her encouragingly..sort of saying..its ok let it out..i know how u feel.......yes..thats what i see
my mind really be thinking things
sk: thats interesting Bukky, a different way of seeing it
The first thing I noticed with this image is that the guy in the foreground looks like a much skinnier Tom Cruise. wink I am not sure if I like this image or not. It has a journalistic or documentary feel to it. The lighting and softness work well here.

thanks for your visit to my photoblog. I like the pictures that could develop a full story, and this one if one of those story-telling ones!!.
Tena koe ehoa
For a title I'd try something like "The Anxious wait" or "Dear John". As a portrait I think it has some redeeming qualities, like his profile is very interesting and her downward gaze adds a sense of wonderment/intrigue. Unfortunately combined I don't think they compliment eachother very well. In terms of what's going on... I think shes trying to find the words that amount to, "Dear John"...
P.S I'm with skee too, that guys head is XXL or she's XS, that's actually quite a good illusion how ever it's achieved.
She's not paying him any attention because she's texting, I can just see the top edge of the phone in the frame. Changes the whole interpretation now?? Sorry man, couldn't resist!
