photoblog image Looking to the heavens

Looking to the heavens

Something in the sky series Part II

This is the second shot in my series. Shot in Reading when I was staying at a bed and breakfast. My room was in the artic and the window was in an awkward position. I saw a bird fly onto one of the roofs next and SNAP SNAP before it flew away.

What do you think of this shot? And how does it compare to yesterdays shoot? Ur views are very welcome

Two more shots to come, I wander what they will be?

To me this shows a Peaceful DOVE( yes Nkechi, not Pigeon) watching over the town of Reading. Look at the tranquility from the sky cast over it head. Almost like the holy spirit resting while the heavens open up.
sk: Holy spirit huh interesting............... I like that
What's the series about? Doves? I think you ought to mention it in your blog text.
sk: Sorry Duane, I coloured it out by mistake, its there now
I like the slight glow behind the bird's silhouette and how the dark clouds peak above the bird. Real nice
sk: thanks

Something about yesterday's picture (tone of the sky, clouds,... not entirely sure) made me think something sad/dark/mysterious had just taken place...

This shot looks like the aftermath of the "events" from yesterday's pic... I like the way the sun breaks through the clouds, as if forcing it's way through the darkness and announcing a new beginning...
Could easily be shots taken after the flood during Noah's time!!!

I like...
sk: Finally U make an appearance. Thanks man

A very well composed and the objects (dove and the source of light) are perfectly placed. Is this a single shot? If you observe clearly on the right bottom, the clould take the shape of the corner of the building. Strange?
sk: strange indeed, yeap single shot

How does it compare to yesterdays picture? It is a full image (he he he he)

Ok on the serious tip. I likey. I love the way the rays of light spread arond our little fellow. Maybe he was about to ascend to a better place smile Good work.

Which editing tool do you use?

Suby
sk: wow Suby U liked my shot? today is a good day. dude should U even ask? Its photoshop CS, didn't do that much, cloned out some lens dirt, curves-constrast and saturation.

Very nice picture .
The work on light is beautiful !
I discover your universe.
Between the two, this is my favorite.
Probably because of it's symbolism. Great light, impressive sky and the dove in the middle of all that. Excellent !

Love how you composed this shot. I like the bird, like how the roof top ends before the right side of the frame, and the light seems to be coming right down toward the bird. Great photo.

lol. Jide, it might be a dove, but it looks anything but peaceful! Personally, I think it's looking for a human target to cr*p on (mind my french!) Perhaps it's about to get its comeuppance from a higher being (we should be so lucky!)On a serious note, I love the shot. I've always had a fascination with clouds and the sky. I can almost smell the rain/electricity in the air.

I like this one. It seems powerful, with the sky that seems to split for the bird.
Great shot, the sky adds so much. I'm digging a lot of your photos. Thanks for your comment.
Stunning shot.....so dramatic.

a great shot, the rays almost seem to be highlighting the bird, one of your best.
