photoblog image Thats not right part 1

Thats not right part 1

New week, new series. This week all my shots are from my recent trip to Nigeria, they will also be slightly different from my usual stuff. First and foremost I want to give props to Jide Alakija for being able to capture great moments whenever he goes to Nigeria, I didn't fully appreciate them until I tried to take shots while on the move. Well done man.

Todays shot was taken from the front passenger seat. I spotted this Okada a mile off and got out my camera fast to catch him before he whizzed past. What your seeing him carry is a actually freshly slaughtered meat. Amazing. That can't be right.

Nigeria is a crazy place, but I still love it.

Ur thots on this shot? Ur thots on Nigeria? all are welcome.

Lol! I've seen one Okada carrying about 4 slaughtered goats! Nice pic
Comical. Yes Nigeria can be crazy but that's culture and we should express it to the world in the best way. I think you've done a good job here.

About the studio lights, if you want my two cents, I use bowens espirit geminis they are cool because you can use them in the studio as well as on location (with the traveller battery pack) I have 4 500watt heads but one could start with a 2 head 500watt bundle which comes with one umbrella and one medium sized soft box

I really like this... particularly appreciate the sharp focus, especially as the bike was speeding at u! Also the colours highlight the bikers from the rest of the shot.

Thots on the event in the shot? Shocking, yet typical!

Fascinating shot! I'm always eager to see images from cultures I'm not familiar with. Keep 'em coming!
Excellent work and backstory. It's amazing the respect we have for photograhers after we visit the place where they worked. I suppose I foolishly assumed shooting tropical images is easy because it's such a beautiful place. But because of all the great contrasts that inhabit a tropical place, for instance, it makes getting land and sky exposures very difficult. It's almost a must to have a ND filter (and I didn't over on that small rock).

You see a lot of side mirror and rearview mirror photography shots but there's usually nothing of interest in the images. Here, though, we get this two-man bike contraption. Nice framing. Cheers!
Very nice. I think this shot says just so, so much...
