photoblog image A London landscape

A London landscape

I was working on a London eye shot but it really didn't work out so I am putting up a landscape instead. It was from my trip into London over the weekend, and I'm sure you recognise the historical landmarks.

What say you?

Can anybody suggest a theme for sometime next month when we kick off our themed experiment. For those that don't know, the idea is to do a theme maybe once or twice a month. Somebody picks a word and then people interested on shutterchance put up their interpretation of it.

Any suggestions on our first theme?

very postercard-like. although i feel a little awkward about the cropping at the left side as i feel you could have you used the Big Ben as your side frame. smile
sk: i try not to crop when i PP, but I think I should have tried a bit with this one, thanks for stopping by
lovely shotsmile i like the sepia tone bring out a great detail and definitionsmile
sk: thanks very much
Stunning.
sk: thanks
You know what I think are fun experiments? When you give each photographer the same object and tell everyone to make an abstract out of it. It's amazing what angles and what parts of the object certain photographers like to put more emphasis on. You can do it with anything, be it a fruit or a football.

I like this shot; the noise and duotone work here. Kind regards, Brent
sk: thanks Brent, yes I think it will be fun. actually fruit sounds interesting

Okay can we do a fruit that exists in all parts of the world? Maybe Citrus?

Great Capture..

Great picture and color tone! Maybe you can have "shutter speed" as your first theme. The challenge would be to use the shutter speed as an important element of the photo, either to completely freeze motion or to have motion blur.

As a suggestion for a theme, I suggest "gusto" not exactly sure what it means, but it the first thing that came into my mind.

I bumped into this shot by accident when I clicked àsìkò by mistake. So glad I did - it's marvellous; made me draw a breath anyway.

Theme? I recommend starting with something not too abstract to ease us in gently, and then turning up the heat as we all get the idea. Good question above, though. How do we know what the theme is? It'll need to be be made available where all who want to play will see it.

I like the tone and the way the clouds give it a moody sorta feel. But did you do some kinda HDR or overexcessive shadow recovery? There's some haloing that is quite obvious, especially around the clock tower.
