Thoughts by sunset

A man has dreams of a place where his dreams come true, where life is lovely and brand new. We all have dreams, but making them come true is a whole another story. Have a dream, cos a man without one perish and has no tomorrow.

I took this in Nigeria while my buddy seemed to drifting off to a far away land where he had a no problems (he wishes).

Remember people: The theme for the 9th of June is fruit. Please start submitting ideas for the next theme in two weeks.

Lovely shot, lovely silhouttes.
Reminds me of "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho.
sk: thanks Deji
Oi! Isn't that Mr O?

Meanwhile I think we should do a sunset series with this one, or maybe a sunset exhibition, or better yet get everyone on shutterchance to post a sunset shot someday.....I wonder what the whole community thinks of this. We should have a sunset day.....anyone? What do you all think?
sk: ok sounds good, maybe our next theme should be sunsets

mmmm .... more semiotics huh! The dark space is the stuff that is weighing him down (or grounding his thoughts). Your eye travels up from mid bottom left diagonally to the the thinkers face/eyes and is directed (at an equal and reverse angle) to the setting sun and sky -to where his thoughts are directed. See the balance in the image.

All rather reminiscent of Rodin's The Thinker.

Nice thoughtful shot.
Beautiful silhouette. I think this would work in landscape format, too. Potentially even better. Nice one. Cheers, Brent

The silhouette and the light are perfect! Great one. Maybe there could have been a little more sky and a little less dark space (as JD already mentioned), but still a stunner.

It's a nice shot but I think it's missing an element. OK, this may seem strange but I see this in a lot of shots of sunsets. Whenever I've been at the coast and watched sunsets I always watch the sun set...may seem obvious? Therefore when it is composed to get their profile in front of the sun it tends to look a little contrived to me.

Very nice shot, lovely silhouette! The contemplative pose works very well, and I see that you balanced the light and dark areas well.

Beautiful silhouette. It's a spectacular image even without the figure, but the silhouette really puts it over the top.

This is a stunning shot. Very nice emotional feel to it.

There is some detail in the negative space at the bottom of the shot, looks like some reflections, that I think would be better removed to make it a complete silhouette.

I am OK. If I know Tosin he's waiting for the moon, not watching the sun, in this photgraph. My Mum said something to him once about the moon connecting people across continents - I see the same moon as him therefore whenever he sees it we'll be connected.
awesome, really great colors in the background, not blown out. good stuff
