photoblog image Alone

Alone

Today I am truly alone
I walk among apparitions of a barren zone
u stand beside me, but I am beside myself
cos in loneliness I have become an ice shelf
Can u hear the voices in my head
the pain, the sudden cries of dread
I am truly committed to solitude
rendered motionless in this lonely mood
wrapped in the silence of naked skin
I shiver so easily to the whispers within
Re-enacting of secrets kept
there is a loneliness in my regret
Beside me, u are nowhere
our love was destroyed beyond a prayer

Lovely! I really like the empty space it adds a lot to the feeling of the shot.

The only thing that I think would have been a little better would be if she wasn't so far into the light since it's blowing out her silohuette a little bit. But you may not have had a choice in the matter so it's still a great shot in my mind.

But then again I go back to look at it again and I am not so sure that she would be better in full shadow. I suppose the only way I would be able to decide is if ther were two shots to compare.
sk: thanx very much for your comment Laurie

Lovely shot!

Oh my gosh! This shot is soo romantic for me...seems like its one scene of a movie and the characters are having a moment by themselves proiclaiming their love for each other.

One question, how do you achieve a perfect silhouette shot like this? In which the people are completely dark and see the shape perfectly?? Do you need a tripod or you just have to shoot it against the light w/ a close aperture?
sk: thanx and much appreciated Sarah. I shot this silo by exposing for the sky but focusing on the subject. in this case the sky background f13 1000s, so i adjusted my manual settings for that exposure. i then focused on the girl (at f13 both girl and boy would be sharp). Shotting for the exposure of the sky will under-expose anything in the foreground, making them silhouettes. hope this helps.
nothing i feel like sayin..wanna feel the beauty of the shot n the touch of words in silence.. its too beautiful to say anything.
nice to have you back.

This is a fantastic shot Ade. You know what I see in this? A couple looking down from an impossibly high mountain or maybe a moon onto the earth below, with the glare of the sun reflected off the oceans. The clouds at bottom left suggest islands, and there's a definite curve across the whole picture which for me is the curvature of the earth. It's 'other-worldly'. Maybe I've been watching too many sci-fi films smile
sk: U can never watch too much sci-fi wink thanx very much

hey àsìkò, i'm back to the photoblog community!! =D I like the mood in this shot and the refection of the sun, but the silhouette figures has got bright white line around them, especially the guy, something I dont like about the picture..

Very apt for the 7th of July. Lovely Poetry. I'm not sure about the title 'Alone' when there are two people.

However, I'm feeling this shot because I thot to myself today 'Will we ever find peace in the world?'.....and this picture does it for me. They look like they are looking/searching for something that's far away or will never come. Peace in the world maybe?

Again....Lovely shot!!!
