photoblog image Sunlight samurai

Sunlight samurai

I wasn't really gonna put anything up today but I decided to share something from my shot this past weekend. Some of you may remember Matt my buddy from a few weeks back, well I did another shoot with him on sunday and heres one of the shots. This was actually the last shot that I did. All the time I was shooting there was no sun, it was the usually dreary cloudy sky with drizzling rain, common British weather. As we are about to leave the sun comes out, go figure. I couldn't let the opportunity  pass by so we get a shot under the suns rays.

What I love is the shadows and how it provides Matt with form, esp around his face. And yes he is holding a sword (his a samurai).

I wanna thank Matt and his lovely girlfriend Rebecca for their time. Hopefully we will do this again. God bless

That is an awesome portrait! It has something that screams "Shakespeare" to me, that guy has a great expressive face, I love it how he is looking up and out of the shot, like he is contemplating some great drama. The light is brilliant and the texture of the coat rounds it all up
sk: thanx very much Petra

The lighting of this portrait makes it a fantastic image. Its interesting you took this with shutter priority and at such a high speed made a great shot though

Great shadow work here.
I like the strength and sence of peace that this image portrays. I don't mind the framing. The essential eliments of face and hands are well exposed making your eye move from one to the other.(The shutter speed would have allowed you to come down a stop on the ISO to give a better image quality).
I like this and your other work.

Dramatic! I love how you've employed the empty space on his right. Adds a lot to the image.
