In remembrance of a previous theme

I was gonna put this up on our first theme, but I decided to go with the shot I put on the theme day (Fruit)

Our next theme is this coming friday and is entitled "music", thanx to Barbara for recommending. The next theme after that will be "three" suggested by Sparklite. To make further suggestions about the theme, please visit the theme section in the discussion forum.

Anyway have a great weekend everyone.

yesterday someone put up a bit of ut kiwi and I commented how if you take a photo of a subject that has been photographed hundreds of thousands of times it needs to be either a) BETTER or b) different to all the others. Frankly this is both. WELL DONE !!! I love the transparency and the background especially

I think you could have been more careful with this shot. You've got that brown stringy thing coming out from the side of the kiwi, a shadow creeping in from the top, and a blown out reflection. I'm not sure if it was your intention, but I think it would be better if you used more DOF to get everything in the frame in focus.

You know what would be nice? A combination of some of the aspects from this (the skin) with the shot from the theme day (the lighting)..
I somewhat agree with the others about the shadow at the top, but I think the string adds a nice level of mystery to the composition. What is it doing there, why did you leave it? Is something going to come out and get me? I don't know, but it makes me think and that's what I want in a photograph.
Very nice, but I do have one real question. How did you make the seed part in focus and part of the countertop?
