Graceful pride

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I helped the famous Mr Alakija at a wedding over the weekend and this is one of the shots from the lovely ceremony. When I shoot a wedding, three quarters of the photography is kinda photojournalistic (meaning capturing the events of the day), the other one quarter is semi-posed stuff directed by moi. I always like to the get the bride and bridegroom alone and do some shots I may have thought of during the day. Here is one such shot of the lovely bride Nkechi being my model. I wish her and her hubby lots of love in her new found union.

Isn't she lovely?

She is really really pretty and the pose is really full of grace and a very flowing sort of motion...but i think the toning really makes the shot....really really wanna give u a 9/10 and i think i will but not wholeheartedly because(and i dont think u cudve done anything about this) i find the background filled with too many objects and thats a bit distracting...but still hats off to u for a fantastic shot...

OK, I have to be honest, I don't like this at all though this is just my humble opinion.

My first thought was why is her arm up? There isn't enough in the frame to show me that she is reaching out to someone/something in a romantic sense, although it's clearly meant to be that way.

There is a long depth of field which is also not conducive to the mood...is that someone's front room or a doctor's waiting room? I can see the headline's now..."wedding day tragedy sees bride's arm set in splint"

If you want me to focus on her in a romantic way then for me you need to set the mood with the shot. I really think people commenting have mixed thoughts associated with the very beautiful bride, the lovely wedding dress and the positive emotions of a wedding day with the quality of your shot.

In terms of redeeming features, the bride as a subject is beautifully lit and captured especially the skin tones...I just don't like the pose and the setting.

Sorry mate but I've seen so much better from you...

Great shot... i do like the pose...it shows beautiful details...the lace on her arm and the way the veil is draped...well done!
