Dead petals of November

Dried up roses make nice photography subjects.............when U know what the hell u are doing, and off course Ade didn't...........  I had dried these babies up over the last few months by putting them upside down. This caused them to dry without falling off the rose stem. Wasn't sure how to photograph them so I used a spotlight flash to place the emphasis on the roses and exclude the environment around.

Thank the Lord its friday. I have had a hard week cos I wasn't feeling too good, cough and flu symptoms, HATE THAT

For those interested in wedding photography I have put up a slide show of some of my wedding images, check it out now. If you are looking for a wedding photographer and U like my work, give me shout. Link below;

If you were in Naija you would have taken ACTIFED! Nice shot, have a great weekend and lol at Blacktinkerbell.
hey asiko,

really simple, yet nice capture. i think that the spotlight adds a great deal of power and emphasis to the dried roses. i also really like the fact that the surrounding area is black, and therefore, allows the viewer's attention to be drawn to the details of the roses. lol @ blacktinkerbell. sorry to hear that you are under the weather...hope you are feeling better soon.
sk: awww thanx Nicole

I like this shot on more than one level.

The first is that you've managed to dry rose heads so effectively and secondly that you've taken such a great picture of them. It really works well, and especially against the black background. It looks very autumnal.

Hope you feel better and enjoy the weekend.
