photoblog image Brighton Pier

Brighton Pier

Theme: By the seaside

As usual the clouds were not very dramatic, so I tried colour burning to bring out some detail, boy I need a better camera. I am going to try this in monochrome. I think it might change the image drastically. I decided to experiment with compositions and framing on this one.

Loving the sharpness of the image Ade. And the colours. And the composition. Very surreal.

I think this is pretty nice. Did you use a polarizer? Even on a cloudy day they can make the sky more interesting. Just a bit trickier exposure.
sk: nope I didn't, I should try and use one
A very 'retro' picture... something of the 30's here... can't really tell you why... I love the atmosphere.

Apart from that large white glare in the middle everthing thing else looks okay.

I like the composition a lot. I noticed the horizon is a bit bent...I dont think I would have caught that if this was my shot smile

I like this, the pier looks as if it's leading into the sunshine.

You say you're going to try mono, but I wonder if selective colour would work?
I think that you guessed right with this composition. I like much so and as she is.

Love the composition especially with the colour on the right.
I looked through your archive and you have some really strong images (some of the people shots are real powerful). This shot stood out to me, maybe it's because of the movie Quadrophenia or maybe the Kinks songs like come dancing, but I just liked this one for the history and storytelling effect.

Real nice work.
