photoblog image The dark side

The dark side

Thanks for all your comments yesterday, I appreciate them and look forward to hearing from people who come through my site. My blog is more a hobby, where I can express my artistic and creative photography. I hope you enjoy my pictures.

Another from the archives. I took this sometime in April last year when I was in Nigeria. The model is my brother looking mean (well trying anyway). I lite him from the side with a table lamp thereby causing shadows on the half of his face. When I shot it I had the whole dark side of the face in my head. In processing I boosted the contrast to further increase the shadows.

Have you got a dark side?

I love that I can only see one eye....and the color (or the lack of it) is really nice...
Nice shot Asiko. I think most people have a darker side. I know I do

You can see he's trying really hard to look mean. The lighting helps some but no, I'll wager he's a softie.
really nice light...good frame..smile
my favourite type of portrait...ive tried to some of these on myself as well...this one has been executed to perfection...

Great dramatic portrait. Everyone has a dark side. You choose how much you let it show.
