photoblog image When she smiles............................

When she smiles............................

Back again......................... I am really gonna try and post more often.................... we'll see. I have been doing a lot more weddings than previously and this is one of the shots from a wedding I did. Despite the technical pitfulls I absolutely love this. Maybe its the expression of the bride on her day. Its this sort of emotion I love to capture at weddings.

A lot of people assume wedding photography is a walk in the park, well it ain't. I tend to shoot anything between 400 - 600 images at any given wedding. Thats quite a bit considering they have to be processed. I tend to get rid of about 100 - 200 bcos they could be out of focus or have serious exposure issues. The others are opened in Adobe Lightroom and processed, this could days to weeks, bcos I have a full time job as most of U know. After that they are shown to the couple who pick their favourites. I then design and implement layouts for a storybook based on the images they have chosen. This is actually the hardest part of the process. Layout deisgn ain't easy especially since I am still learning about design. That is a brief outline of my wedding process. This will probably change in about a year as I am learning new ways to improve my process.

What do you think of todays shot?

The few family weddings i have shot in the past for family on film were stressful enough. To do it all the time is a feat especially with digital we place high expectations on ourselves. The shot shows pure joy which is how couples would like to remember the day instead of all the worry. lovely work àsìkò. did you consider a crop to the left.
sk: yes i have got a cropped colour version and I can see what u mean
Loooooooooong time.
What do you I think? Lovely shot but?....
sk: yes......... go on
yes Jide go on....
Me, I like the way the dress is almost illuminated but it takes a lot away from the bride..can hardly see the expression u're speakin of. Nice monotone howeva

I am sure she will like this, lovely tones here bro.
I think this one is lovely, but I do agree about the crop. I'd play with the crop a bit.
like people have said, the crop...but i suppose what matters is that great smile on her face...
wedding photography is defiitely not my thing i just can't do it as good as you guys that realy go for it. As you mentioned, this day is so important for the couple, and yes you have to capture that special feeling of the day, at a time when the couple has a lot more on their mind than the photographer. I love this shot, because for me wedding photogrpahy is all about capturing special moments they instantly appear and disappear. Great job!!!

I don't know if I agree with the "too dark" comments, e.g. the flowers are amazingly captured. The dress is burned out on some parts and furthermore she is a black woman so I'm not sure if it would help to brighten up the midtones. Nice shot. An idea would perhaps to try to crop it vertically instead of panoramic.
