Yolanda Brown portrait

Thanks for all the comments on the last post, I'm glad a conversation was sparked up. My previous image was a fine art portrait which will be going into a selection of fine art portraits of brides I have compiled over the years (and no I am not a wedding photographer). Even though the images are of brides, they are more fine art images than wedding images......... heck the brides haven't seen these images as they were not given to them.

A few months back i was fortunate to get a portrait session with MOBO award winning jazz artist Yolanda Brown. She was modelling some shirts for Jsaphirrah (fashion designer). Well off course I have to get some images for myself and this was one of them. Yeap harsh light and all, thats how I roll.

Anybody looking to buy the new 5D, I am so getting it sometime next year when the prices come down a bit...............21MP of full frame fun.

Breath taking...well I'm absolutely clueless about "5Ds....21MPS" so forgive me if I'm not commenting on the lightings and effects and all the works you professionals get into on each others' blog!!!(LOL)
But it is truly beautiful...
sk: thanks dude, I'm not a pro though

Brilliant shot. Lovely contrast and colour tone. Also, love the blacks, very smooth and lovely. Saw her on the MOBO's, when she picked up an award, will keep an ear out for her stuff.

A very accomplished and cool portrait. If that were me, I'd be overwhelmed by such a photograph smile
sk: LOL thanks FLOOG
There's something a bit ethereal about this one. I love the way she's looking down and appears so thoughtful and immersed in what she is doing.
sk: thanks Dawn, thats the general idea I was tryna go for
Oga mi very nice portrait, Oga you are getting all this big commisions. Maybe you could have lit her hair a tad to separate from the backdrop.
sk: yes I agree I should have, I only had two lights one was for her and the other for the background.
Quite lovely. I am not up on the technical terms, so if there are any imperfections, they escape me. No clue on the 5D...I am still wrestling with when to get an SLR, what one to get, and how long it will take me to figure out how to use it. :o)
I love this portrait !!
I'd love to photograph Miss Brown tooooo !
