Fashion shoot

Credits

Stylists: Segun Garuba & Tanaka Matibiri (Tee&Segs)

Makeup: Anne Duncan

Model: Lilly Jolie

This was from a personal project I decided to work one a few weeks back. I crazily decided to get 6 models, 3 makeup artists and 3 hair stylists in for a project I called Nudes n Neons. It was based around 2 current fashion trends for spring summer.

It was one of those shoots where almost everything went wrong, 3 of the 6 models couldn’t make it, 2 hairstylists and 1 makeup artist cancelled on the day(don’t you just hate that) and somehow by the grace of God the shoot went ahead and I got still got 6 models (that’s another story).

Anyway everything came together on the day. Advice to anyone………..don’t friging try to go crazy with getting in loads of models, MUA, stylists and hairstylists, the logistics are a theatrical nightmare.

I wonder if anyone can figure out how I did this? (its actually quite easy and I am sure the shutterchancers weill get it in a heartbeat, they never miss a trick). And no I didn’t use photoshop. It was all done in the camera, all I did was boost the contrast as I normally do.

Hope everyone had a great easter.

Nice shot, don't feel the model however, she does not work for us. The choice of model for any shoot is extremely important. From this angle she looks stocky and short, wish eyes where open wider.

Also why not retouch the vein on her forehead and neck? Adds nothing to this type of genre remember. Retouch is king. Also, think there is just way too much space in this image, would benefit from a crop.

U are very optimistic, if not paying, always realise, people WILL disappoint.
sk: thanks for the feedback, that was useful. I was thinking about cropping but now that you mentioned it, I will definitely crop it. Ur right about the retouching. Thanks dude

my guess would be...
hand held shot, slightly panned, one exposure split into two by use of rear sync flash (or something)

nicely done

i bet it'd be even more compelling with less ghosting across her face
sk: I wish I could give u money for your correct answer, but I need all the pennies these days, credit crunch and all
thanks for ur feedback Dr
would like to say superb work matey but after what s&s said, can i? lol you bet i cansmile
Def slow sync flash, I love this effect, I think it's worth developing as it can be very effective.
